“Feelings”

I wrote this a few years ago; but like everything prompted by the Spirit, the truth yesterday remains the truth for today and tomorrow….

During some quiet time that I recently spent with God, He clearly focused in on some feelings I had been experiencing lately. He expressed to me that my feelings had not been indicative to a faith that supports a belief system that He is everything He says He is. First, however, He made me understand that “feeling” in general was not the problem.
Clearly He said to me:
“I want you to feel…..it is natural to feel…..Without feeling there can be no heartache when we witness suffering….Without feeling there can be no love… (neither the ability to receive it or to give it).”

Purely, simply: Without feeling our hearts cannot be moved.

No, “feeling” was not the problem, however, the types of feelings were: Feelings of doubt; limitations etc. And to that He spared the sugar coating and said:

“You either believe in me (in everything I say I am) or you don’t.”

“You either Trust Me; or you Doubt Me.”

“When you believe in Me completely, you Believe in My strength; therefore you do not wallow in your weakness. You no longer walk with bowed shoulders; but instead you stand erect.”
_____
Trust me when I say, that I sat up in my chair when I heard Him speak those last words.

And though His words were sternly direct, He didn’t leave me with that. Instead, in His graciousness, as if to ensure that I didn’t then turn to guilt-mode for having had those feelings of doubt, His final thought was this:

“I know your heart, try to remember Mine.”
_______
May you go out today standing tall remembering, believing, and trusting the One who is all knowing, all powerful; and everywhere (including within you).

“I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.”
II Corinthians 7:16

“Casting all your anxieties on him; for he cares for you”
1 Peter 5:7
